Mayor Making

Tonight was my first full Council meeting. I arrived at the meeting in good time so I could be robed up; I did look a tad silly but was all good fun. I found out they only had 18 robes left, so when we win more seats in the next elections they will have to get some more.

The meeting was interesting, although no actual policy was decided; we did however elect Fred Pugh, the Conservative Councillor from Mapledurham, as Deputy Mayor. A superb choice, it’s just a pity that Labour had to kick up a stink about it, but then again it was the first loss in many many years so probably a bit of sour grapes.
